The mission and vision of the NIH Office of Clinical Research Education & Collaboration Outreach (OCRECO) is to facilitate excellence in clinical research at the NIH and extramurally through the development of training and collaborations that optimize resource utilization and facilitate partnerships between the intramural and extramural communities.

To carry out this mission and vision, the NIH Office of Clinical Research Education & Collaboration Outreach (OCRECO) ensures high-quality science and clinical research through:

  • Development and maintenance of training programs to facilitate the performance of rigorous and reproducible clinical research;

  • Development and administration of funding opportunities for Intramural Research Program (IRP) investigators, and for intramural-extramural investigator collaborations; and

  • Collaborative partnerships to leverage NIH's special capabilities.
