NIH Freezer Management Home Page
EachIC is required to have a cold storage coordinator, NIH Manual Chapter 26101-16 ,to increase the reliability of and reduce energy consumption from cold storage units at the NIH.
Cold Storage Coordinator responsibilities include:
- Communicate requirements of Manual Chapter 26101-16 to IC personnel
- Maintain database of IC's cold storage units
- Maintain electronic records for cold storage: maintenance, acquisition, disposal, etc.
- Ensure cold storage units have assigned users
- Coordinate annual freezer inspections
