Workshop: Can Autism Spectrum Disorders Tell Us Anything About Alzheimer’s Disease?

Dates

March 8, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., ET

March 9, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., ET

Purpose and Background

The goal of this workshop was to discuss whether there might be a link between autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and, if so, can this potential association help us in understanding mechanisms underlying AD. Epidemiological and basic science research in ASD (idiopathic and single-gene ASD) and AD were presented and we reviewed the state of the field and identify opportunities for research in this area.
