Health Disparities in Neuroscience

Observational studies of aging and Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias (AD/ADRD) have documented significant health disparities across and within race and ethnic groups, and in other communities, such as socioeconomically disadvantaged populations and underserved rural populations. The NIA Division of Neuroscience works to strengthen knowledge and understanding of causal factors that led to AD/ADRD health disparities.

Webinars and Events

The Health and Health Disparities in Neuroscience Webinar Series, started in September 2022, highlights opportunities for NIA grantees and other interested individuals to share research advances, lessons learned, and opportunities in the field.
