The NIA Research Centers Collaborative Network (RCCN) promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration among researchers from a variety of fields of aging science. Created in late 2018, the NIA-funded RCCN is designed to foster collaboration and bridge gaps among the seven NIA Centers programs:
- Alzheimer's Disease Centers
- Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Centers (OAICs)
- Nathan Shock Centers of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging
- Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMARs)
- Edward R. Roybal Centers for Translation Research in the Behavioral and Social Sciences of Aging
- Centers on the Demography and Economics of Aging
- Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaboratories (AITC)
Led by the American Federation for Aging Research and investigators at Wake Forest School of Medicine, this interdisciplinary effort brings together researchers with diverse expertise to advance aging research. The NIA RCCN supports these efforts across the NIA-funded Centers through diverse strategies, including development of collaborative tools, conferences, pilot programs, and early career investigator support.
