The Centers for Genome Research Consortium aims to support the development of innovative genomic research projects through infrastructure building and the formation of interdisciplinary research teams at institutions that have not recently received significant funding from NIH and who have not participated in genomics research. These Centers will increase the genomics research capacity of these institutions so that more students will have access to genomic technologies and be encouraged to explore careers in the field.

Objectives

The objectives of the Centers for Genome Research Consortium are to carry out innovative, state-of-the-art genomics research studies; enhance institutional genomics research capacity; foster genomics research career development for trainees and investigators at all career levels; and enhance the genomics infrastructure, computational and analytical capabilities of resource-limited institutions.
