Network with NIA at AAIC 2023

NIA staff will join some of the most esteemed dementia experts from around the world to participate in this year’s Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) , July 16-20 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The event, which also has a virtual attendance option, promises to be packed full of exciting scientific discussions and networking opportunities.

  • NIA-AA Symposium: Enabling Precision Medicine for Alzheimer’s Disease Through Open Science : The sixth annual symposium will feature an array of NIA-supported translational research programs that employ precision medicine principles and open-science practices. Dates: Thursday, July 13, 1-5 p.m. and Friday, July 14, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • NIA-AA Workshop: Explore AD Data and Resources Using the AD Knowledge Portal Ecosystem : This immersion workshop will introduce the AD Knowledge Portal and Agora, two websites for exploring multi-omic data for Alzheimer’s disease research. Date: Friday, July 14, 1-5 p.m.
  • ISTAART Immersive: Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP) Phenotype Harmonization Consortium: Data Access and Application : The International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment (ISTAART)hosts this in-depth guide to accessing and using the wealth of data from the ADSP Phenotype Harmonization Consortium. Date: Friday, July 14, 1-5 p.m.
  • Pre-conference: Grants Workshop: NIA Training staff will join Alzheimer’s Association representatives and other funders for a hands-on workshop on preparing strong grant applications. Date: Saturday, July 15, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Preconference: Technology and Dementia : An exploration of various technologies to support innovative research study design and interventions for people living with dementia and their care partners. Date: Saturday, July 15, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Early Career Funding Opportunities with NIA: Join NIA Training staff for a lunchtime networking session, hosted by ISTAART, focused on funding opportunities for early-career researchers. Date: Tuesday, July 18, 12:30-2:15 p.m.
  • AAIC Perspective: Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Research in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs): A global perspective on the need for increased Alzheimer’s research in non-high-income countries. Date: Tuesday, July 18, 4:15-5:30 p.m.
