Perceptions About Dementia Clinical Trials Among Underrepresented Populations: A Nationally Representative Survey of U.S. Dementia Caregivers

This study asked a nationally representative sample of dementia caregivers about their willingness to participate in a hypothetical dementia trial. The results show that Hispanic and non-Hispanic Black dementia caregivers were not less likely than White dementia caregivers to participate in the hypothetical dementia clinical trial. These findings suggest that failures to recruit diverse populations may be due to structural barriers and historic exclusion rather than less willingness to participate.
