This article demonstrates the effectiveness of a community advisory board to identify barriers and recommend strategies to increase participation of older Latinos in research at the Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. The board identified six major barriers to Latino participation. Analyses show that implementing changes to address barriers increased Latino recruitment by nearly threefold.
