Across the globe, the fields of medicine and biomedical research are integrating AI tools into practices, procedures, experiments, and analysis. Four Fogarty International Bioethics Research Training Program grantees discuss the value and potential ethical concerns when using AI in medicine and research in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs).

Fogarty adds value to NIH and the Department of Health and Human Services through 439 active research and research training awards. Nearly all of Fogarty’s overseas grants involve American researchers. Two-thirds are awarded to U.S. institutions.
