Many parts of the country continue to experience record temperatures, volatile weather patterns, or both. With an increase in extreme weather events such as hurricanes, heat waves, and wildfires, it is crucial to conduct thoughtful and creative research to protect older adults and other populations vulnerable to the impact of these events. Climate change research continues to be a growing priority for NIA, as we support investigations of factors including the exposome and air pollution .
As a next chapter in these efforts, we are pleased to present a new online speaker series, Developing Transdisciplinary Intervention Science in Climate and Health Over the Life Course. This series of webinars is designed to bring together researchers, NIH program staff, and the public to discuss practical solutions to address climate change impacts.
Bridging the gap between discovery and action
This speaker series aims to promote the principles of translation and implementation science in climate and health research. By bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and real-world actions, researchers can provide valuable insights to help communities become more resilient while protecting the health and well-being of all individuals affected by climate change.
We hope you can join us for the first webinar, Translating Climate and Health Research Insights Into Action on Monday, March 25, at noon ET! All of these webinars are free to attend, but registration is required. To register for any of the options, click on the relevant title in the table below.
Tune in starting March 25 to join the conversation!
If you’re interested in climate change research, be sure to register to attend the March 25 kickoff talk and mark your calendar for the entire series. If you have questions, please email Richard.Kwok@nih.gov or Emerald.Nguyen@nih.gov . We welcome your comments below on how research can help older adults and their communities be better prepared for climate change.
