Summary of Key Accomplishments
NIA provides co-funding for one of the Trial Innovation Centers established by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences focused on aging and dementia. A key feature of each center within the Trial Innovation Centers network is to provide centralized IRB services. Centralized IRB is also an essential element of NIA’s Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium. The Consortium conducts multi-site clinical trials for the treatment and prevention of AD/ADRD, and has launched two clinical trials (A3 and A45) that utilize the centralized IRB.
The key accomplishments summary is current as of March 2022.
