The Drosophila Neurobiology Interest Group (DNIG) is an inter-institute consortium of NIH labs studying fundamental questions in neuroscience using Drosophila as a model system. Participating groups represent researchers from 4 ICs within the NIH, as well as labs from the University of Maryland and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Our goal is to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and establishing collaborations, and to provide a forum for fellows to present their ongoing research projects and interact with leading scientists in the field.
The heart of our Interest Group is the biweekly Drosophila Neuroscience Colloquium (DNC) which meets on Fridays at noon in building 40, room 1201/1203. The DNC typically consists of a research seminar on work in progress by trainees in a member laboratory. Several times a year, the DNIG hosts presentations by invited outside speakers. The DNIG also holds a poster session once a year in the spring that is open to all Drosophila researchers on the NIH campus.
