This meeting aims to facilitate meaningful research connections by introducing extramural investigators to NIH resources and engineers, scientists, and clinicians from the Intramural Research Program (IRP).
Welcome remarks will be given by NIH Director Monica M. Bertagnolli, M.D. The event will feature abstract-driven talks, poster sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and two plenary speakers:
Bioengineering and Medicine: Personalized Diagnostics, AI, and Printing Cellular Machines
Rashid Bashir, Ph.D., Dean of the Grainger College of Engineering, Professor of Bioengineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Bone Marrow Transplants and Gene Therapy for Sickle Cell Disease
John Tisdale, M.D., Senior Investigator, Director of Cellular and Molecular Therapeutics Laboratory, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
Building Bridges is being led by the BETA Center , an NIH-wide resource housed by the NIBIB intramural research program and will serve as a new NIH campus model for accelerating technology-driven interdisciplinary research and clinical translation.
