Focus on adolescent health research As the largest global adolescent population in history transitions into adulthood, Fogarty and NIH are supporting research into multiple aspects of youth health, including teen pregnancy, tobacco use, and HIV testing and care. Fogarty's adolescent research key to future good health Adolescents are often overlooked by health researchers but have unique health issues that require study. Teen pregnancy can impact health for a lifetime A Fogarty grantee aims to explain the relationship between teen birth and cardiovascular disease later in life. Healthy habits in teens help reduce NCD burden Fogarty-supported studies show associations between exposure to tobacco use in movies and teen tobacco use. Fogarty supports research to fight HIV/AIDS in teens Stopping the spread of HIV among teens is a critical global issue that Fogarty-funded researchers are working to address.
