Board of Scientific Counselors, National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Intramural Research Program conducts biomedical health-related research in its own laboratories. In order to secure unbiased and objective evaluation of intramural research programs and of the work of the individual scientists, expert scientists from outside the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are invited to join the Board of Scientific Counselors, NCI (Board). The Board provides advice to the Institute in carrying out its intramural programs in the areas of basic, clinical, and epidemiological research and provides advice to the Institute regarding a wide variety of matters concerning scientific program policy and progress and itiatives within the NCI Intramural Research Program.
