The IRG reviews funding applications and proposals, including but not limited to grant and cooperative agreement applications and contract proposals for research projects and for research and training activities in areas relevant to immunological, biological, and chemical strategies for infectious disease intervention, control, and prevention. Included are the discovery and development of anti-infective agents and vaccines for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and control strategies which cover all investigative aspects of vectors associated with disease transmission.
