Accomplishment Submissions

One of the main sections of the IRP web site is devoted to promoting the most outstanding research coming out of the Intramural program. Along with the PI pages, the Accomplishments section continues to be the ‘go-to’ place for information on the incredible work that our fellow scientists perform. Having this central repository (and keeping it up-to-date) allows us to be much more proactive in promoting the IRP, especially to our key constituencies.

You can access the Accomplishments section of the web site by pointing your web browser to https://irp.nih.gov/accomplishments .

What do we need from you?

  • We would appreciate your providing up to three examples of ‘home runs’ from your Intramural program that would be appropriate for inclusion. An ‘accomplishment’ should be either a major, game-changing achievement or represent the culmination of a long-term body of work of high significance. Please complete a separate form for each submission.
  • We are also making a concerted effort to back-fill the Accomplishments section to capture historic, seminal breakthroughs that have come out of the IRP. To that end, please feel free to submit write-ups describing those discoveries. These will not count against your three submissions for each new calendar year.

Please fill in the following submission form to help us develop these Accomplishment pieces. Each of the three sections – Challenge, Advance, and Impact – should be no more than three sentences and 120 words in length, telling the story in a succinct yet informative fashion. The important thing to keep in mind is that the three sections should ‘connect the dots’ for the reader, making sure that the impact of the accomplishment is obvious and easily understandable, even to those without a scientific background.

We also ask that each submission be aligned with to up to three of our Scientific Focus Areas , allowing us to better-integrate these accomplishments into the overall structure of the web site.

Thank you in advance for helping us publicize the groundbreaking discoveries being made in the NIH Intramural Research Program.
