The NIA offices located at the NIH campus include the Office of the Director/Deputy Director, Office of Associate Director, and Office of Administrative Management . The NIH Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias are also located on the NIH main campus. The Fisher’s Lane building is approximately 5 miles north of the NIH campus. NIA's Extramural Research Program areas and administrative offices are housed on the eighth floor, including the Division of Extramural Activities and NIA's extramural programs:
- Division of Aging Biology
- Division of Behavioral and Social Research
- Division of Neuroscience
- Division of Geriatrics and Clinical Gerontology
The eighth floor of the Fisher's Lane building features a café and several pantry stations equipped with coffee machines.

NIA’s Intramural Research Program (IRP) includes seven scientific laboratories and a clinical research branch. Research is conducted in several sites; most of the laboratories are based at the Biomedical Research Center on the Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus in Baltimore, Maryland.

Parking at Fisher's Lane Building
Free visitor parking is available in the surface parking lot located behind 5601 Fisher’s Lane. The surface parking lot is immediately behind the reserved parking garage next to the building.
Metro Transit Information
Visitors can take the Metrorail to both the NIH campus and the Fisher’s Lane building via the Red Line. The Metrorail station at Medical Center is located in front of the NIH campus. To travel around the NIH campus, the campus shuttle service runs from the Medical Center station to the main campus buildings. The closest Metrorail station to the Fisher’s Lane Building is the Twinbrook Station. The Twinbrook station is less than a 15-minute walk from the Fisher’s Lane building.
