Scientific Review Officer

NICT reviews applications to study the involvement of neuroimmune central-peripheral cross-talk and neuroinflammatory aspects involved in risk, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, progression, prognosis, biomarkers, and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Most studies use in vitro and in vivo systems, including human cellular models and tissues, and other model organisms (vertebrate and invertebrate) to study basic biological mechanisms underlying human neurological disorders.

Membership Panel

The membership panel is a list of chartered members only.

Topics

  • Role of neuron/glia, central-peripheral interactions, organ system interactions in mechanisms underlying neurological function and disorders.
  • Role of CNS/peripheral organs interactions in mechanisms underlying neurological function and disorders.
  • Neuroendocrine, hormonal imbalance/dysfunctions in mechanisms underlying neurological function and disorders.
  • Involvement of microbiome -brain axis in mechanisms underlying neurological function and disorders.
  • Inflammatory biomarkers of neuroimmune cross-talk and CSF-neuronal interface.
  • Therapeutical development targeting neuroimmune and neuroinflammation mechanisms and pathways.
